Welcome New Hawks to the Nest - Game On !
It's been an exciting week for our girls starting with a tie last Sunday in Orangeville.  Thanks to a great effort by everyone, Letelle opened the scoring with a blistering shot to the goalie's stick side.  It was a fast paced game with a few penalties (some perhaps not so deserved) and no shortage of excitement as our girls kept the local fans quiet for the first two periods.  Hailey was stellar between the pipes once again.

Friday night our girls joined by two new additions - welcome Mackenzie J and Emma T !!! so glad you're here !!! - went into a late 9pm game at the home of the division leading Vaughan Flames and caught them off guard.  Mia opened the scoring with just over two minutes left in the first and then Sammy caught fire bringing home goals in the second and then two in the third period to silence the home fans.  What a game played by all !

Riding the wave of Friday's win, the girls went into the Canlan Ice Centre to face the North York Storm on Sunday afternoon joined by one more addition - welcome Emma B !!! glad to have you join us !!!  In a very evenly matched game, the refs let the girls play only having to call one penalty (on us unfortunately) very late in the third.  North York opened the scoring with under a minute left in the first.  Emma B scored her first goal early in the second and Mia followed up with one later in the second.  Despite North York's attempts, they couldn't get one past Hailey in the second and then got a call their way in the third to record a second goal and then a third with 5 minutes left to go.  The Hawks didn't stop and kept pressing, pulling Hailey in the last two minutes.  Mia should have scored at least twice in the third, it just didn't go in !  Unlucky for sure but she left the North York fans speechless when launching a rocket to the goalie's left side that just missed the net.

Bravo ladies !  Thank you for some exciting hockey moments and laughs on the ice and in the dressing room.  You have made us all very proud and it looks like it will be an exciting tournament in Peterborough this coming weekend as you come together as a team with one mission and one goal, to play as a team your BEST hockey!
