The solid run by the Golden Hawks into the Holiday Break produced a 7 game winning streak (in December) where they out scored their opponents 27-2.

In the process the girls moved into second place, one point behind the leaders, with a game in hand.

Georgina has only given up 4 points this season (1-L and 2-T),  Toronto Leaside has now given up 5 points (0-L and 5-T) and Clearview have now given up 7 points (2-L and 3-T).   If Georgina can keep things rolling then 1st place is within reach.    We win our games it's ours, our future is currently in our hands.

In myhockeyrankings.com (under U17B girls)  our Georgina Midget B girls should be congratulated as they currently have the best playing "RECORD" in Ontario and in the "AVERAGE GOALS FOR AND AGAINST" we are also #1 with an average 2.78 differential .   That means the girls have played well at both sides of the ice.     The catch is it will take a lot of work to stay their.

HAWKS went into Orillia and did what had to be done to win 4-1 and not give up points.    It was a funny game in that some shifts there was nice passing and then other shifts it looked a little like TIMBITS hockey.

At around the 7:23 mark of the first period Georgina got on the score sheet when Brit, on a solo effort, walked off the side boards and fired one home.   With only 1:22 remaining BRIT cycled around the opposite boards and crossed a pass to Madison on the point.   Madie controlled the puck, crossed just over the top of the circles and ripped one top blocker side through a Megan and Davis screen. Increasing the odds!

In the second period Megan won the draw to Brit who patiently looked, accessed and fired it home.

In the third with only four and half left Madison executed another LOW point shot that struck an Orillia defender and deflected in.   Orillia pushed back and actually outshot the Golden Hawks 7-6 in the third and they were able to capitalize on a goal crease scramble PP marker.

Hawks win 4-1 and are the first LLFHL Midget B team to get to 13 wins.

Congrats girls, keep it up! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all the families.   Safe travels and we will see you all on the 2nd.
