Schedule & Results, Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

Georgina Golden HAWKS hosted Orillia HAWKS for the first time since their tie game in the pre-season.   HAWKS are birds of prey that rely on their guile and stealth for air attacks.   The game started with both teams apparently focused on the "stealth" with a side of lethargy and neither team wanting to take control.    

Georgina were held off the score sheet until the 4:00 mark of the first when Haley placed a pass between the defenders to hit a streaking Emily down the left wing who went in all alone and shot short side to tickle the twine and give Georgina the lead.    30 seconds later Natalie D pinched down the right boards then fed a patient Brit in the slot. Brit went back-hand fore-hand over the blocker side pad.  

In the second period Christine pinched down and threw the puck on net.   The rebound came out to the backside of the keeper giving a wide eyed Megan and Davis an open cage.  Davis got the blade down to tap in the 3rd off the game.    Two and half minutes later Natalie D captured her second helper when she spoon fed Megan for the one timer.   Megan slammed it home five hole.  

In the third, Georgina played a little stronger but were stalled on the score sheet until the 2 minute mark when Natalie gave Erin another outlet pass through the neutral zone.   Erin surprised the keeper and beat her five hole.  With 20 seconds remaining Brit picked up her second of the game on a goal crease scramble.    

Georgina out played and scored the HAWKS who also appeared to have a lethargic appearance.   We know our next meeting will not be the same.  The Golden Hawks registered 40 shots towards the net and out shot Orillia 33-21.   Unfortunately Lauren was tasked to come up big again when the Midget B gave up 11 scoring opportunities.    

The Georgina Midget B inched up in the standings and with 12 wins in 15 games is adding some pressure to the league leaders.
