Schedule & Results, Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

Due to game 3 results Georgina had a poor plus minus record.   Although in a 4 team tie for 3 positions Georgina were sitting in 5th place.   Georgina needed Oakville to beat Kincardine.  If that happened then Georgina just needed to win or tie to advance.    But as in most tournaments when you put your fate in other teams it never works out. 4th place Kincardine beat first place Oakville and now Georgina needed to beat Hamilton by 4 in order to advance. 

The Hawks and Hamilton have a bit of a history which included some irate fans, rough games, concussions and suspensions.

Haley got the Hawks started with a breakaway goal in the first.    1-0 (three more goals needed) 

In the second it Hamilton that struck on scramble and bad angle shot catching the far post.   Georgina took the lead back 2-1 power play goal by Megan.  Georgina continued to press.  Power play was impressive hit two posts and a cross bar.      With only .08 seconds left in the second Brit scored to give Georgina a 3-1 lead.  

12 Minutes left to score two goals an ensure a position in the semi finals and erase the debacle of game 3.   Hawks were feeling good about making this happen.  

However once again a total of 7 penalties, 4 of which were in the 3rd period killed any momentum and/or potential to extend their lead.    

Hawks win but fall short on the plus minus by 1 goal to advance to the next tie breaking rule and 2 goals to ensure a semi final appearance.
