Atom House League Clearview Tournament Champions
Our Atom House League team competed in the Clearview Christmas in the Valley Tournament December 11th to 13th. The girls came together celebrating a 5-1 win over Burlington on Friday afternoon and Lauren being the Player of the Game. Saturday morning the girls worked harder with
Presley walking away with a shut-out 5-0 win over Oakville and Presley being the Player of the Game. Presley continued with a second shut-out win, again 5-0, with the girls working even harder in front of her, against Mt. Forest and Emma being the Player of the Game. The championship game was at 8:30 Sunday morning, so an early start to the day, but the girls were excited to play. With the girls winning the first 3 games the coaching staff and many mom's donned the red and black war paint the girls had been wearing from the start of the tournament. Burlington was able to make it into the final game and started off hard against us. Burlington scored first with the Hawks coming back to tie it up. This happened again putting us tied 2-2 with minutes left in the game. The Hawks pressured hard with the Burlington goalie having a great game. With keeping the puck in Burlington's end our Hawks went up 3-2 and protected the lead to be announced as the Atom Champions. This time Renee was the Player of the Game. Great weekend girls. 18 goals for and 3 against, fun hockey to watch and great to see the girls working hard and having fun together.
