GGHA Announcement for Midget and Bantam House League
Submitted By Pam McArthur - President on Tuesday, September 5, 2017
Unfortunately with significantly low registration numbers in both the Bantam and Midget House League divisions we have to advise you that we will not be icing a bantam or midget house league team this year in Georgina.

While the GMHA is always an option for mixed league play here in Georgina we've also reached out to our house league interlock partners for the girls exclusive team option of Central York Girls Hockey Association (Aurora). Please see the rest of the article for answers to some of your important questions.

We are always available and emails can be found in the 'contact us' area of the website.

In anticipation as to the many questions you may have I’ve detailed some information below:

Question: I’ve already paid my registration to the GGHA, what will happen now?
Answer:  You will be refunded your total registration of $525.00 or $600.00 by Friday September 8th from the GGHA.  You can register for the Central York House League program by contacting Patty at the office at 905-727-0269 [email protected]  or registering on line at http://www.girlshockey-centralyork.com/page/show/1164213-registration-hl-and-womens  The cost to register is $640 for Bantam and $605 for Midget.   These costs include the cost of the Aurora House League Tournament in November.

Question:
When will be Bantam and Midget House League Teams typically practice and play games?

Answer: Bantam games will be at Magna Centre in Newmarket at 6:30 and 7:30pm and practices will be on Sundays at Ray Twinney at 11:15am and 12:15pm.  Midget only plays games no practices,  2 games per week. 4 teams play on Thursdays at  Magna 8:15 and 9:15, 2 teams play on Saturday at Magna at 8:30 and all 6 teams play on Sunday at different arenas (4 teams at SARC and 2 teams at magna).

Question:
Who can I contact from the Central York Hockey Association if I have questions?

Answer: You can email me: Alex Leclerc at [email protected]  I am the VP of House League, You can contact Patty Albert at the office during the week at 905-727-0269.  You can also contact Linda O'Doherty, Bantam convener at [email protected]   or Kelley Phillips, Midget Convener at [email protected] . In addition you can go on their website at http://www.girlshockey-centralyork.com/page/show/897950-home

Question: When does the House League Season Start?

Answer: House League Player assessments start Saturday September 9.  Once you register your convener will contact you and let you know what time and date to show up to for assessments.

Question: When will I know what team my daughter is on and their schedule?

Answer: Coaches will reach out to all players after assessments the week of September 18th.

Question: Can my daughter request to be on a team with another GGHA player?

Answer: Yes, you can request to be with the other GGHA players, the only way will not be able to accommodate this is if it throws off the balancing of the teams, but if we can do it we certainly will.
