Association Update
Submitted By John Davidson on Sunday, July 19, 2020
Hi to our Georgina Golden Hawks Families!

We hope that you have been staying safe and finding ways to enjoy the summer, even with our new social distancing reality.  We are hopeful that we will be able to return to hockey in the fall and just wanted to send an update on recent activities and communications from OWHA and GGHA.

Please read the entire article.

GGHA AGM
The Annual General Meeting for the GGHA is scheduled for July 30, 2020 at 6:30 pm in the parking lot of the Ice Palace.  If you are interested in becoming a member of the Executive Committee, please contact Andrea Filby to learn more.

Return to Hockey Framework
The OWHA has developed their own risk assessment framework to support the return to hockey based on guidance from Hockey Canada, the Ontario Hockey Federation and the Province of Ontario.

COVID-19 Committee
Any return to hockey activities for the GGHA will require strict protocols to be followed and managed.  To support this new reality, the GGHA is also required to form a special COVID-19 committee; VOLUNTEERS are needed. If you are interested, please contact Andrea Filby.

GGHA Registration
GGHA registration for 2020/21 will be available soon; there will be no cost to register.  OWHA has changed the registration platform and once we are set up it will be annouced.  Thank you to Marylene Cacciola for taking on the role as Registrar for GGHA.

Competitive (Rep) Teams
For Rep teams, the GGHA is looking into skills & development ice time starting in mid-August.  This will be limited to players & coaches from last year and will be on a per use cost (restrictions will apply).  Additional information will be provided when available.

GGHA is awaiting additional direction from both the OWHA and the Town to support returning to the ice; stay tuned for additional information as it becomes available.

We are all looking forward to getting back on the ice…but to make this a reality, WE NEED YOUR HELP:  If you are interested in being an Executive Committee Member or COVID-committee volunteer, please reach out to Andrea Filby as soon as possible.

Have a wonderful day!

The GGHA Executive
