The first two periods were scoreless. Sarah was strong keeping the puck out of the net while the D cleared it out of our zone and gave the forwards an opportunity to score. Finally in the 3rd the Hawks preserverence paid off and Hailey got it past their goalie. The Dolphins came back quickly to make it a 1-1 tie. The team was poised with to head into sudden death overtime. They worked hard but couldn't get it between the pipes. After 5 minutes of scoreless overtime play the team went into a shoot out. As she had done though out the game Sarah kept us alive through 2 rounds while Megan, Hailey and Taylor tried to score on the other side. Unfortunately the third round was the end of the gold metal game as Etobicoke scored. Great tournament overall from all our amazing players. You dug deep and never gave up! It was a pleasure cheering you on to a Silver place finish that you all can certainly be proud of!
