Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

Georgina Golden Hawks Midget B attended the Provincial Championships held in Mississauga this past weekend.    Their Midget B level of play had 24 qualifying teams compete for the title of Provincial Champion.    There are a number of LLFHL teams and a load of teams from the WEST, the NORTH and the EAST that are unknowns.    You watch games wondering if they are a team in your division, thinking how do we measure up? Georgina Midget B attended the LLFHL CHAMPIONSHIP weekend to play against the other Division Champions.   Competing in the Tournament were:   Georgina, Wilmot, Mississauga, Keene/Otonabee, South Huron.   Game #1 vs Keene/Otonabee:      Georgina were familiar with KEENE and had played them on two previous occasions.    The first time the two teams met was in the Applefest tournament where Georgina had won 2-1.   The second time the teams met was in the Huntsville Tournament round robin game where Georgina was winning 3-1 and Keene scored 2 goals in the last 2 minutes of the game to tie it ...

The Midget B Hawks have had somewhat of a storybook season which has consisted of them competing in the finals in 3 of their 4 tournaments, obtaining a bye into Provincials, finishing tops of the Central Division with only 1 loss, scoring the most goals (71) and having the least goals against (8) of all LLFHL teams in their category and have now qualified for the LLFHL Championships.  With the CHAMPIONSHIP tournament and the PROVINCIALS just around the corner things are about to get tougher.   The matchup for the final series of the LLFHL Central Division Playoffs between Toronto Leaside ...

In this Regular Season wrap up we would like to send out a congratulatory message to all the Midget B HAWK players (in numerical order) -  Lakehn, Christine, Erin, Haley, Natalie D, Davis, Megan, Lauren, Natalie B, Mariah, Jenna, Emily, Brittany, Madison and Beth for their successful season.    Georgina Midget B team lost only 1 Regular Season Game in 2015-16 to be the Central Division Champions; a title which was bestowed upon them by the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League after collecting 38 or 44 points.   Although all Divisions are not equal, the HAWKS won more games and collected more ...

The Golden Hawks Midget B team and the Georgina Ice Junior C team, joined forces and volunteered for the Georgina Libraries Hockey Night at the Library event at the Ice Palace on Jan.12th. The players played games and read books to young boys and girls. The bingo, memory game and shooting skills competition were a big hit. Prizes were given out capping off a fun night. Thanks to all the players who attended. Even though we endured probably the worst blizzard of the winter to get there and back, everyone showed great team spirit. Thanks for making us all proud!
