Bantam B Golden Hawks Improve to 500!
Your 2018-2019 Bantam B Georgina Golden Hawks took their game on the road on Friday and Saturday night.
On Friday the girls travelled to the campus of York University to take on the second North York Storm team. The Hawks got onto the board early with a goal by Isabella, her first of two, assisted by line-mates Claire and Renee. This would turn out to be the winning goal as Hailey shut out the Storm. Leigha and Megan also had two goals each and Lauren rounded out the scoring. The girls played a disciplined game and did not give the Storm a chance on the power play.
The girls carried the momentum into Leaside for another road game Saturday night. After holding a good Leaside team scoreless after one, Lauren picked up a blocked a shot at the point early and sped away all alone and buried the puck after making a nice move on the goalie. The girls played hard and were rewarded for their hard work in the third with a nice goal by Leigha with a good feed from Megan in the corner. Emma put the game out of reach late in the third on the power play burying a nice shot from the high slot. The coaches were impressed by the grit and determination the girls showed. The girls were very excited after the game!
The pair of wins brought their record to 4 and 4 with 8 points.
The girls have one practice this week before heading to Kitchener for the Fallfest tournament.
