Notes
Going into Friday nights game against 1st place Toronto Leaside Wildcats you could of predicated a tight game.
Wildcats had played 13, lost 0, allowed only 5 goals and had 8 shutouts. Georgina played 8, lost 1, allowed only 5 goals and had 6 shutouts. Well both goalies did it again and notched another in the stats as the teams tied 0-0.
The Hawks played a decent game. However, it was a lift off the accelerator, mental errors and some penalty trouble that kept them from handing Leaside their first loss.
In the second period Georgina had scored. The puck went over goalie landed and rolled over the line (6-8")just inside the post. The ref out of position to see did not call the goal even though the Wildcats keeper pulled the puck out of the net after his whistle.
Georgina had controlled the play for large periods of the game and were not without opportunities. It was the Toronto keeper that came up big pulling the puck from the net in period 2 and turning away 3 breakaways two of which were in the 3rd period.
With a little more attention to W.I.N. the girls would of closed the gap in the standings.
