Schedule & Results, Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

Georgina hosted the Durham West Lightning for their first meeting of the season.   Durham were just behind Midget B in the standings which was an indication the game would be close.     The quick skating LIGHTNING may not have struck but the Golden HAWKS did – TWICE – in their 2-0 victory.  

The Golden Hawks played a complete game with every player paying attention to their necessary assignments.    It was a nice all round team effort that produced nothing in the way of concern to the coaching staff.   Focus was on the W.I.N.   

Georgina appeared to control the play with solid defense, nice puck movement and a dominant fore-check.  Lauren was perfect and put up an other goose egg.   It was at 5:37 of the 1st period when Megan won another draw, Davis screened the keeper and couldn’t get small enough when she saw Brit lock and load for a low twin bender.    Durham’s goalie played excellent keeping the score close.  

Georgina finally struck for a second time at 6:54 of the 2nd period when Haley was strong on the fore-check and stuffed one back door.  

Georgina had a good weekend capturing 5 of 6 available points.  They remain in 3rd place having played less games then 1st and 2nd place clubs.
