Schedule & Results, Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

In game #1 of the 2nd LLFHL series Georgina defeated Durham West 2-0.

It was a concern that Georgina would have a little rust to shake and were aware that Durham were going to come out strong after upsetting North York in round #1. 

Georgina did however benefit from the lay off to recover from injuries and rid the team of illness but would be missing their Captain for game #1.  

It was an even start to match.  The Hawks gave up too many scoring chances and had relied heavily on the stellar net minding of Lauren to keep the game scoreless until the team got their feet under themselves.

It wasn't until the last minute of first period when Brit ripped one on net and Emily went hard to pounce on the rebound.  1-0 Georgina. 

The HAWKS outshot the Lightning 24-12.  Georgina held the slim lead until just over a minute remaining when Christine took a shot, followed it up, collected the puck and moved into the middle to slide one home.   2-0 Georgina and the Hawks could breath.    

The next game is scheduled for 1pm in Durham on Saturday afternoon.   Go HAWKS!
