Schedule & Results, Midget B, 2015-2016, REP (Georgina Girls Hockey Association)

In game #3 Hawks were playing the Sarnia Sting who were winless in the tournament.     

Georgina were initially all over the Sting who got one breakaway in the first and scored.    

Georgina continued the pressure in the second. Again it was the Sting that put a second shot perfectly placed off the post and in for a 2-0 lead.   Momentum shifted and the teams exchanged chances and the Sting seemed to be energized.   Moments later they got deflection through the wickets of Georgina keeper to take a 3-0 lead.                 

With just over 6 minutes remaining Christine got one back on a feed from Maddie.    It looked like Georgina were turning the tied on hoping grab a quick one before pulling their netminder. 

With 5:19 Georgina took an ill timed 4 minute headshot penalty followed up with crushing unsportsmanlike penalty while going to the box.     In just over 4 minutes STING scored 2 additional power play goals to give the HAWKS their most crushing defeat of the season 5-1.    

A win in this game would of put the Hawks into 1st place. in hindsight a tie would of even put Georgina as the top team in the tournament.   A loss put them into a 4 team tie for 2nd but in 5th place in accordance with the plus minus tie breaking rule and sitting outside qualification to move on.  

Georgina now in the hands of other teams.

The goals against in this game will prove to be their demise for the tournament.
